Groupe composé des frères O'Kelley, Rudolph et Ronald Isley. Ils apprennent d'abord à chanter dans les églises de Cincinatti. En 1958, ils obtiennent un engagement à l'Apollo de Harlem. L'année suivante, ils se produisent au Haward Theatre de Washington. C'est à la suite de ce spectacle que la maison de disques RCA Victor leur fait enregistrer "Shout" qui deviendra un immense succès, tout comme la chanson "Twist and shout".
